Following extensive discussions and negotiations, involving the Scottish Football Association and other invited parties, the above Clubs will be forming the
This New Community Club has been formed to foster and develop adult and youth football in the west of Edinburgh, and will deliver the required transition pathway from youth to senior football within the Community Club.involving the local community and a safe environment..
The Community Club draws on the strengths of both clubs and an Executive Committee has been formed to organise and support the smooth set up and transition of the new club..
Lothian Thistle Football Club will continue to run the Senior, Amateur, and the over 35’s teams.
Hutchison Vale Football Club will continue to run all the Youth sides and the women’s senior team.
The existing Lothian Thistle under 19 team will play under the name of the new Community Club.
Both Clubs will at all times support the other in related football matters.
In addition to the Scottish Football Association, both Edinburgh District Council and Edinburgh Leisure have given their full support of this Community Club initiative.
Lothian Thistle will have the use of Saughton Enclosure on Saturdays and midweek as and when required. The under 19 senior team and the Hutchison Vale ladies team will play their games at the enclosure on Sundays..
The new community club would like to thank the Scottish Football Association Ltd, Edinburgh District Council And Edinburgh Leisure for their time, advice and support in the development of this initiative.
